OUR 3 FAVORITE SMOOTHIES THAT WILL GIVE YOU A BOOST OF ENERGY
Admit it, we all love smoothies. But few of us actually make them at home – mostly because we're lazy. But making a smoothie doesn't have to be a drag. Even with only a few ingredients, you can make smoothies like you wouldn't believe. To make things even easier for yourself, you can measure-out the ingredients for each smoothie beforehand, put them in plastic bags, and freeze them for later. By blending frozen ingredients, you get tasty, fresh, cool smoothies without having to add ice.
Here are our three favorite smoothie recipes that will give you a quick boost of energy.
5-MINUTE BANANA SMOOTHIE
If you’re partial to banana smoothies, do not skip this one. Not only is it tasty, but it’s also super nutritious. This smoothie is perfect for breakfast or as an afternoon snack. If you want, you can also save it for later by freezing it in popsicle molds.
· 1 banana
· ½ orange, peeled and quartered
· 1/3 cup Greek yogurt
· ¼ cup water or milk
· 1 to 2 teaspoons honey
Roughly chop a banana (make sure it’s sweet and ripe – if it’s unripe it will taste chalky) and cut the orange into quarters, and then put it in a blender. Top it with yogurt and water, or milk. Blend it until it’s creamy and smooth. If you want, add honey for a sweeter taste.
SUPERFOOD STRAWBERRY SMOOTHIE
One of our favorite smoothies of all time is this superfood smoothie that tastes like heaven. It is designed to provide your body with the elements needed to give you a huge energy boost. Have it for breakfast, and get the right amount of energy to start your day actively, or simply have it whenever you feel like you’re lacking energy during the day.
· 1 cup strawberries, fresh or frozen
· ½ frozen banana
· 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
· 3 tablespoons coconut flakes
· 2 tablespoons goji berries
· 1 tablespoon chia seeds
Place strawberries, banana, almond milk, coconut flakes, goji berries and chia seeds in a blender. Blend well, until smooth (you’ll need about thirty to forty seconds). Depending on what kind of consistency you want, add more milk or water.
ENERGY BOOSTING GREEN SMOOTHIE
We love our green smoothies because they keep us full for longer and release the energy over a longer period of time. This smoothie is easy to prepare and makes for a perfect breakfast, thanks to all the nutrients it contains.
Tip: If you want to make it even richer, add some oats into it.
· 1 stalk of celery
· 2 cups fresh spinach
· 2 slices of fresh pineapple (approximately 1 inch thick)
· 2 cups of coconut milk
Wash the celery and spinach and chop the celery into big chunks. Peel the pineapple and then slice it into slices thick about 2 inches, but don’t cut out the core, as it contains a lot of vitamins. Put celery, spinach, and pineapple into a blender and blend it until it becomes smooth. Add the coconut milk and pulse until it’s well combined.
